Water from Babli project may reach Sriramsagar project today

Water on Sunday was released from the Babli project at Dharmabad in Maharashtra. As per the directives of the Supreme Court, Maharashtra irrigation officials released 0.56tmc water into Godavari.Officials from the Central Water Commission and Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra were present during the release of water.  


Sriramsagar project (SRSP) executive engineer B. Rama Rao, executive engineer from AP R. Mohan Rao, Nanded irrigation division executive engineer Khalekar, CWC executive engineer E. Venkateshwarlu and SRSP deputy E.E. Jagadish, A.E.E. Vamshi and others were present. The water released from the Babli may reach SRSP by Monday. 


The present water level in SRSP is 1,056.20 feet as against its full reservoir level 1,091.00 ft. Its water storage is 10.171tmc against 90tmcft. Last year on same day the water level was 1,054.90 ft with 9.224 tmc water storage. It reached at the level of 3.984tmc between June 1 to June 30, officials said.
