GHMC removed 1,317 encroachments on the second day

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has cracked the whip on footpath encroachments for the second consecutive day. Breaking its own record, the civic body removed as many as 1,317 encroachments on the second day.

The corporation’s enforcement teams demolished 1,024 encroachments on Saturday. Against a target of demolishing  4,133 encroachments in three days, the corporation has demolished 2,341 in two days.  The GHMC will remove 1,792 footpath encroachments on the final day on Monday. Six special teams have removed as many as 1,027 permanent and semi-permanent and 290 movable encroachments. he teams ensured that every footpath encroachment was demolished, including encroachments by major commercial establishments like  Shah Ghouse Hotel, Tolichowki.
