TRS ignored tenant farmers: state BJP President

 BJP state president K. Laxman on Sunday demanded that the state government extend the financial aid under its Rythu Bandhu scheme to tenant farmers too.“The TRS government has introduced a financial aid of Rs 4,000 per acre for farmers, but it has ignored tenant farmers,” he said. Majority of the suicide victims among farmers are tenant farmers, Dr Laxman said, adding that the TRS government should extend financial aid to all persons involved in agriculture operations. 

As part of his Jana Chaitanya yatra, the BJP state president addressed public meetings in Madnur and Armoor on Sunday. He also interacted with people and party cadre on way to Armoor. 

BJP state leaders Mr G. Premender Reddy, Mr Y. Laxminarayana, BJP state executive committee member Mr Dharmpuri Arvind, Mr D. Suryanarayana Gupta, party's Nizamabad and Kamareddy district presidents Mr Palle Ganga Reddy and Mr B. Laxma Reddy were present at the public meetings. 

Dr Laxman said that TRS came to power giving false assurances to the people. There is no progress in schemes like 2BHK houses for poor, three-acre land for Dalits and KG-PG education, he said. People are preparing to give a fitting reply to the TRS in the coming elections, he said. 

The BJP state president also said that there was no change in the attitudes of the Congress and the TRS. He also alleged that the ruling party was implementing secret agenda of MIM and asked the TRS to declare its stand on Ram Janmabhoomi issue. 

Mukesh Goud rules out moving to TRS

City Congress leader and former minister Mukesh Goud on Sunday ruled out joining the TRS. Mr said he would continue in the Congress and had no plans to quit the party. TRS city leaders met Goud on his birthday on Sunday, fuelling speculations of his joining the TRS.

However, senior Congress leaders too rushed to meet him and convinced him to stay back in the party. Mr Goud hosted a lunch for his supporters on Sunday on the occasion of his birthday. He told them, “After Danam Nagender quit the Congress and joined the TRS recently, several rumours are doing the rounds that I too will quit the Congress and join the TRS. But I don't want to quit the Congress. Do not believe in such baseless speculations. I want to strengthen the Congress in GHMC limits.”

After city TRS president Mynampally Hanu-mantha Rao met Mr Goud, the TPCC leadership  alerted the Cong-ress leaders to speak to him and ensure that he did not quit the party.

Former Rajya Sabha member V. Hanumantha Rao and former deputy CM Damodar Rajanara-simha met Goud and urged him not to leave the party.Mr Goud has been staying away from Congress party activities for the past four years, ever since he lost the Assembly elections in 2014. Mr Goud is said to be upset with the TPCC leadership for ignoring him for the past four years. He was also unhappy with BC leaders not getting due recognition in the Congress, a charge levelled by Danam Nagen-der before joining the TRS.

Senior Congress leaders promised Goud that BC leaders would get the desired posts soon as AICC president Rahul Gandhi was planning to revamp the party before 2019 polls.
