TRS terms Bharatiya Janata Party as 'party of big liars'

Hyderabad: The TRS on Monday countered the allegations levelled by Dr K. Laxman against Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, his family members and the TRS government and termed the BJP as Bada Jhoota Party (party of big liars).

The party leaders said the poll promises being made by BJP state president Dr K. Laxman during his ongoing Jana Chaitanya Yatra were a “pack of lies”. They asked why did Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurate Mission Bhagiratha in Gajwel when the state BJP leaders alleged large-scale corruption in the project.

MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy said, “Dr Laxman says KCR brought family rule in Telangana. They should realise that KCR and his family members were elected by people to these positions and they did not reach there through backdoor entry. Who is Dr Laxman or the BJP to object to this?”

Mr Palla said the BJP's promise to waive off crop loans up to `2 lakh if voted to power in 2019 elections is a “blatant lie”. “Let PM Modi or Amit Shah give a statement on this first. Let them implement this in BJP-ruled states first. Then people may believe in Dr Laxman’s promise,” Mr Palla said.

Party MLA A. Jeevan Reddy said, “CM KCR is trying to make Telangana an agriculture state free of bore-wells by ensuing irrigation to all fields with Kaleshwaram and other projects. But Dr Laxman is talking about providing free bore-wells to farmers if BJP is voted to power, which is ridiculous.”
