Hyderabad: Telangana State Wakf Board staff does not undergo training to upgrade themselves unlike other government departments to keep them updated with the latest tools adopted for smart management.

Employees of all departments and institutions directly or indirectly linked to the government undergo different training programmes at least twice every year. But there is no such practice at the TS Wakf Board where about 300 employees work in various sections.

The board employees are still maintaining manual records of all important court cases and files pertaining to rents collected from various properties. However, the silver lining according to the CEO, Wakf Board, Shahnawaz Qasim, is he is writing to the government and the Centre for Good Governance and MCIHRD to prepare a training schedule for the TS Wakf Board staff. He explained that the board is introducing several new initiatives including petition management system, court cases monitoring system and digitalisation of files.

“Such practices will help maintain transparency in the functioning of the board and prevent irregularities,” said the official. Soon, all petitions will be received online and the enquiry report will be emailed or sent on WhatsApp to the petitioner, he added. The board will also hold training programmes and workshops for its employees, he added.
