Taking into account the hiccups faced during previous recruitment drives, the Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board (TSLPRB) has decided to conduct the massive recruitment process this time in a scientific manner. The board headed by Chairman VV Srinivasa Rao has held a series of meetings with officials concerned to conduct the recruitment for various posts in the Police Department, Disaster Response and Fire Services Department, Prisons and Correctional Services Department and Special Protection Force in a hassle-free manner.
Days after the board issued four notifications for filling up of posts, there was much hue and cry from various quarters demanding the government to increase the age limit. However, after many deliberations, the government has raised the upper age limit prescribed for appointment by direct recruitment to various posts by three years. The board is now pulling out all stops to conduct the recruitment drive successfully with less human intervention by rationalising the entire process, Rao said. The board received as many as 7,19,840 applications from candidates.
The preliminary exam will be conducted in Hyderabad and at all the erstwhile district headquarters. According to Rao, the board is taking necessary steps to conduct the exam in an error-free manner. Right from selecting the examination centres to supplying OMR answer sheets to candidates at the centre and helping candidates to download hall-tickets, the board is leaving no stone unturned in holding the exam in a scientific manner.
There were several vacancies that have piled up in the department for years. The ongoing recruitment drive would strengthen the department on all fronts. The department can focus more on policing once the new recruits are inducted into the force. The force would be distributed to meet the requirement of districts including those created after re-organisation of districts in the State. If everything goes well, the entire process would be completed by March 2019, Rao added.
Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board (TSLPRB) chairman VV Srinivasa Rao has advised candidates not to fall prey to touts who promise to get jobs in various government departments and cheat people after collecting money from them.“These touts take advantage of the candidates’ psychology and cash in on it promising to provide government jobs. They treat it like a lottery. If any aspirant approaches them, they will collect money from him and vanish,” he said.
He advised candidates to take care of their diet and to seek help from the nutritionists on maintaining fitness before appearing for the physical test. “As there is some time for the physical test, candidates can start practising now to get through the test,” Rao added.
