Telangana at No.3 in Good Governed States

Public Affairs Centre (PAC) unveiled Public Affairs Index (PAI) for the year 2018. Kerala ruled by Pinarayi Vijayan's Government emerged top in governance. This Southern State is able to remain No.1 for the third consecutive year. Tamil Nadu (2), Telangana (3), Karnataka (4) and Gujarat (5) are other states in Top 5.

Andhra Pradesh was ranked 9th in the list of Best Governed States. Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Bihar are ranked worst in governance.

In case of small states with less than 2 crore population, Himachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram, Sikkim and Tripura featured in Top 5. Meghalaya is the worst performer in this category. 

The Think Tank 'Public Affairs Centre' was founded by renowned Indian economist and scholar Samuel Paul in the year 1994. Public Affairs Index (PAI) examines governance in the states through data-based framework and offer ranking according to the social & economic development.
