The Banjara Hills police arrested a habitual offender on Monday who was involved in offences for over ten years in Cyberabad and Hyderabad.West Zone Addl DCP, V. Venkateshwar Rao identified the offender as Kuchipudi Laxman, 28, working as an electrician. He was earlier arrested by the SR Nagar police in November 2017 and sent to Cherlapally jail, from where he was released in May 2018. Laxman has been booked for house burglaries in KPHB, Kukatpally and SR Nagar police station limits in 2018.
D. Govind, 39, approached Banjara Hills police after he noticed that someone had gained access to his house by breaking open the door and stole gold worth Rs 25,000. Govind told the police that he went out of city to attend a function on July 5 and when he returned on July 8, he noticed that the lock at the main entrance was broken.
According to officials, Laxman would identify locked houses and break them open at night. Officials recovered 58 gm gold and two cellphones from his possession.A case has been booked against Laxman at the Banjara Hills police station under sections of IPC.
