Amrapali directed officials to complete Bhagiratha works

The pipeline works of Mission Bhagiratha should be completed before August first week, District Collector Amrapali Kata told the officials. In a review meeting here on Monday, she told the officials to speed up the pipeline and intra-village works related to Mission Bhagiratha, Telangana government's ambitious project to provide piped drinking water to every household.


“In accordance with the directions of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, all the works relating to Mission Bhagiratha should be completed by August 10 so that make way for the launch of piped water scheme on August 15,” she said.


The Collector said that the government was spending Rs 1,335 crore for the piped water project in urban district to ensure supply of drinking water in 205 segments. This apart, intra-village works have been taken up with an outlay of Rs 66 crore, she said.


Amrapali said that pending 74 kilometers pipeline work out of the total 352 kms is to be completed on war footing basis. Mission Bhagiratha executive engineer Mallesh, DE Shwetha, Sunitha, Rajamalla Reddy and Chandru Naik were among others present.
