BJP senior leader and Secunderabad MP Bhandaru Dattatraya is facing tough time. After losing union minister post in Modi's central cabinet, the veteran BJP leader may also not get party ticket to contest from Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency as another senior leader G Kishan Reddy is lobbying strongly to test the waters as MP in the next elections.
Reports says, BJP Floor leader in Telangana Assembly Kishan Reddy is not only vying for MP ticket but also eyed for a berth in union cabinet. After Dattatraya was removed from the cabinet, the senior most BJP leader has been sidelined in the party. Speculations are doing rounds that Dattatraya's name will be dropped from the list of potential contestants from the party in the next elections.
Taking it an advantage, Kishan Reddy started doing underground work to strengthen his base in the Lok Sabha segment. Kishan is planning his wife Kavya Kishan Reddy as BJP's candidate from Amberpet Assembly Constituency from where he won two consecutive terms.
Leaders said Kishan Reddy tried hard to contest as MP as he has every chance to become union minister after Dattatraya from Telangana State. After the removal of Dattatraya, the representation from Telangana in the central cabinet is zero. Kishan Reddy wanted to fill the gap by electing as MP.
