Take steps for organising the State government’s prestigious programme ‘Kanti Velugu’ in your respective districts from August 15, State Chief Secretary SK Joshi on Tuesday directed the district collectors.SK Joshi along with the officials of agriculture, forest, revenue and tourism departments held a video conference from Hyderabad with the district collectors to discuss about the implementation of important programmes of the State government like ‘Telanganaku Haritha Haram, Kanti Velugu, Kalyana Lakshmi, Shadi Mubarak, Rythu Bima and Drip Irrigation.
Keeping in view the importance of eyes, the government has decided to conduct free eye check-up and distribution of medicines and other equipment required under ‘Kanti Velugu’ programme, which will be launched from August 15. Necessary steps must be taken to organise this programme across the districts on a grand note, he ordered.
For increasing the green cover across the State, the government started Telanganaku Haritha Haram and completed three phases successfully. He told the authorities to plant saplings and take steps to protect them under fourth phase and complete the targets fixed for the districts.
Enroll all the farmers under Rythu Bima insurance scheme, which would be highly beneficial to them and also encourage them to take up drip irrigation and issue cheques of Kalyana Lakshmi and Shadi Mubarak without pending, Joshi ordered.
District Collector D Amoy Kumar informed Chief Secretary SK Joshi that necessary steps were already taken for organising Kanti Velugu programme in the district.
District forest officer Ravi Kiran, district revenue officer P Mohan Lal, D Komaraiah, district education officer Srinivas Reddy, district medical and health officer Dr Appaiah, district agriculture officer K Anuradha and district horticulture officer MA Akbar were present along with others.
