Warangal: The Ballarpur Industries Limited factory in Kamalapur in Mangapet mandal of Jayashankar Bhupalapalli district is expected to be reopend soon with the help of the state.
Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari and industries minister K.T. Rama Rao assured the management of the factory that all possible support would be given to them to reopen it.
During a meeting in Hyderabad on Wednesday, the ministers asked the management to take immediate steps to ensure that the factory is reopened as soon as possible.
The management which expressed willingness for reopening the factory put forward several requirements that the minister agreed to, and asked the officials to come up with proposals within one week and get them approved.
Mr Rama Rao said the state government was keen on reviving industries in the state and safeguard the livelihoods of the labour. He assured that the state was ready to give subsidies wherever possible for running the factory again. “As soon as we receive the proposals from the management, we will take up the issue with Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and work out the procedure to help the factory. Ours is a labour-friendly government with policies to revive industries being strictly followed. With the revival of this factory, several workers and employees who have lost their jobs will be back on their feet and there is scope for new people to get employment,” he said.
Mr Srihari has been in talks with the management since two years persuading them to reopen the factory.
