Kadiyam Srihari demanded SCS to Telangana along with AP

Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari on Thursday demanded Special Category Status (SCS) to Telangana if Andhra was being granted SCS.Kadiyam Srihari met Union Human Resources Minister Prakash Javadekar in Delhi on Thursday and conveyed the same message to the Centre.


Stating that the Centre was not focusing on Telangana and fulfilling provisions of the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014, he said that SCS shouldn’t be granted to AP at the cost of Telangana, as the status comes with special incentives that help the state's growth. Hence, the Minister said that in order to not put the disadvantage on Telangana, the Centre should grant SCS to our state as well.Being the Education Minister also, he sought the process of setting up various universities in Telangana be expedited.
