The Congress on Monday alleged that the ruling TRS was not serious on implementation of bifurcation policies as mentioned in the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014.Addressing a press conference here, senior Congress leaders Mohd Ali Shabbir and Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy said though the Congress approached the Supreme Court seeking implementation of the bifurcation Act, the TS government did not implead itself in the case while the AP government did. When the Congress is trying to secure pending bifurcation promises, the TRS is trying to project the Congress as an “Andhra party”, they said.

Mr Shabbir asked whether the Central government has filed a wrong affidavit in Supreme Court or was there any fault on the part of the state government. He demanded that the state Assembly session be convened immediately as the people of the state need to know all facts about the assurances given to AP.

Mr Ponguleti said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his party MPs miserably failed in highlighting the state’s problems before Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the past four years. “What is the motive of the state government behind maintaining silence in this regard?  Now that the elections are approaching, the TRS is playing the sentiments card to fool the people,” he said.
