KCR launches 4th spell of Haritha Haram

Telangana CM K Chandrashekhar Rao launched the fourth phase of Telangana ku Haritha Haram (TKHH) by planting a Kadamba sapling at Indira Chowk in Gajwel town on Wednesday. Marking the launch of the programme, a record 1,00,116 saplings were planted simultaneously by citizens in the town. The programme was launched across the State simultaneously by Ministers, MPs, MLAs and other elected representatives.


The Chief Minister planted a coconut sapling at the residence of Kura Nagaraju in Pragnapur as well as Mulugu and Turkapalli villages. Forest Minister Jogu Ramanna, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao, MPs, MLAs, MLCs and officials accompanied the Chief Minister. 


Earlier, he visited the Forest Research Station at Mulug on his way to Gajwel. He directed the officials to deploy Green Battalions to conserve greenery in the forests and take the help of the police if needed. He appreciated the forest officials for their efforts to conserve the Singarayapally forest and announced a collective reward of Rs 5 lakh. He also assured to sanction additional staff and funds in this regard.


The Chief Minister who enjoyed the serene atmosphere at the forest, suggested that the officials organise ‘Vanabhojanam’ with the legislators in the forest at the earliest.
