Asaduddin Owaisi accuses BJP of 'politics of convenience'

Hyderabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday said the BJP wants to keep the Assamese identity intact at the cost of sacrificing the identity of 40 lakh people.
“In Kashmir the BJP wants Article 35 to be scrapped to dilute Kashmiri identity. BJP is playing politics of convenience and identity where it suits them politically, but the Supreme Court too is monitoring,” Mr Owaisi said.
“The top court was more sympathetic to the Chakmas who were Buddhist residents of Chittagong Hill Tracts and Mymensingh districts of former East Pakistan and today’s Bangladesh,” he added.
