Bars and Pubs will open till 1 AM

Here is a good news for all the boozers from the Telangana Government . The Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise passed an order permitting Bars and Restaurants in GHMC limits falling within 5 km radius to serve alcohol till 1 am on Fridays and Saturdays. Until now, Restaurants and Bars can serve alcohol only till 10.30 PM.On the other hand, Telangana Government extended the drinking hours in the state till 11 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Retail Stores and Wine Shops can sell Alcohol till 11 pm.

Actually, There is demand for extending the drinking hours in bars, pubs and restaurants till 3 am. However, State Government decided not to extend beyond 1 am. In 2015, Pubs and Restaurants were permitted to serve alcohol only till 11 pm. Retail Shops were allowed to sell alcohol till 10 pm. 

In GHMC alone, There are around 400 Pubs and Bars. Extending drinking hours boosts the revenue of the Excise Department.
