Multipurpose modern halls in Sircilla constituency

Organising functions and meetings on roads under small shamianas are a thing of the past in Sircilla Assembly constituency represented by IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao.Without worrying about rain or sweltering weather conditions, people can now celebrate small events in modern multipurpose function halls being constructed in every village across the constituency. 


Irrespective of caste, community and religion, all sections of the village can utilise these halls. The 200-capacity rooms and hall are spread over 2,200 sft area and have been christened ‘KCR Grama Pragathi Pranganam’.


During his maiden visit to Sircilla after formation of Rajanna-Sircilla district on November 10, 2017, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had promised to sanction Rs 20 lakh to each gram panchayat.


Local MLA and IT Minister Rama Rao after discussing with officials decided to construct multipurpose community halls in every village for the convenience of villagers to organise small functions and meetings. The district administration has designed a model which has been replicated in all villages.


The Panchayat Raj Department was given the responsibility of constructing these halls. According to Panchayat Raj Department statistics, of 92 halls, works on 37 halls has already been grounded and another 44 units are ready to be grounded. Land for 11 halls has not been identified so far.


Of 37 halls, halls in seven villages such as Thadur, Baddenapalli, Ramannapet, Raghavapur, Indiramma colony, Mustipalli and another village of Thangallapalli mandal were completed.Speaking to the Telangana Today, Executive Engineer, Panchayat Raj Department, V Kanakaratnam said construction of multipurpose community halls was delayed because of time taken for identifying land for the purpose.They were grounding works in the villages wherever land was available. So far, land has not been identified in 11 villages, he informed.
