Police seize ganja in Sircilla district

Rajanna Siricilla district police bust a ganja circulation gang and detained two of its members. Eleven kilogram of dry ganja and an autorikshaw were seized from them.Producing the accused before media persons here on Friday, Superintendent of Police, Rahul Hegde explained the modus operandi of the gang.Shaik Asif (28), a resident of Bandarikunta in Peddapalli town and Arepally Manohar (20), a resident of Thurkalamaddikunta of Peddapalli mandal were arrested.

Based on reliable information, CCS cops along with one town police conducted vehicle check in the bypass road near Yellamma temple on the outskirts of Sircilla town on Friday morning.They found two persons in an autorikshaw moving around suspiciously. On being questioned, they confessed to the crime of transporting ganja from Hyderabad to Karimnagar.On Thursday, the accused had gone to Hyderabad and purchased Rs 1.20 lakh worth ganja from an unknown person and on Friday they were transporting it to Karimnagar in autorikshaw.They also confessed that they had been in the business since many years. They usually purchase ganja from Hyderabad and Vijayawada, and sell it to innocent youths in Karimnagar, Peddapalli, and Vemulawada town.
