ACB caught VRO for asking bribe from farmer

Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths trapped a village revenue officer (VRO) while accepting Rs 20,000 bribe from a farmer in Nadikuda village of Mallapur mandal in Jagityal district,on Saturday afternoon.According to ACB officials Mohammed Rafi, VRO of Raghavapur of Mallapur mandal, demanded Rs 20,000 from a farmer Gaddam Mahipal Reddy to issue pattadar passbook and Rythu Bandhu cheque. 


Not interested in paying the bribe, Mahipal Reddy approached ACB who hatched a plan and trapped the VRO while accepting bribe from farmer.Surprisingly, the VRO went to the house of complainant to accept the bribe where the ACB team led by DSP Kiran caught him.


Mahipal Reddy said Rafi demanded Rs 20,000 to issue new pattadar passbook for the land owned by his mother and Rythu Bandhu cheque. He had been making rounds of VRO from last three months. Vexed over the VRO’s attitude, he approached ACB.
