Police is clueless over D Srinivas's son case

Police is clueless over whereabouts of TRS MP D. Srinivas’s son and Nizamabad former mayor D. Sanjay accused in a sexual harassment case. He has been absconding for the past one week after a group of 11 B.Sc (Nursing) students lodged A complaint against him.Nizamabad IV town police had registered the case under the Nirbhaya Act along with other sections of IPC and is searching for Mr Sanjay since then.


Police had formed three special teams to trace the whereabouts of Mr Sanjay, but in vain. Following the directives of Home Minister Naini Narasimha Reddy, DGP M. Mahender Reddy and Nizamabad police commissioner Kartikeya are supervising the investigation and the search. Reportedly, special teams searched for Sanjay in Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Bengaluru and in neighboring Maharashtra state.


Meanwhile, a petition was filed in the High Court on behalf of Sanjay on Wednesday to quash his advance bail plea.


HC tells cops to follow procedure


The Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday directed the Nizamabad City Police to strictly adhere to the provisions under the Cr-PC while investigating the case against D. Sanjay Kumar, former mayor of Nizamabad and son of TRS MP D. Srinivas.Justice M. Satyanarayana Murthy was hearing a petition by Mr Kumar, seeking to quash the case booked against him by the Nizamabad city police following a complaint by a group of students of Sankari Nursing College that he had harassed them sexually.


Mr. T.  Pradyumna Kumar Reddy, counsel for the petitioner told the court that the police booked the petitioner under Sections 354, 354 A, 342, 506 and 509 of the IPC with the ulterior motives.He submitted that the police mentioned that the alleged offence was takes place on July 26, but the cases were booked after eight days from the date of alleged offence. While directing the police to follow the Cr-PC , the judge disposed of the petition.
