MPs sought help of MEA for TS people in Gulf

TRS MPs B. Vinod Kumar (Karimnagar) and B.B. Patil (Zaheerabad) on Wednesday said that the officials of ministry of External affairs responded positively about ensuring the safe return of Gulf migrants belongs to Telangana state. Few youths from various districts in Telangana state were stranded in Gulf countries due to various reasons, they said.


The MPs, along with the family members of the youths, had met external affairs ministry joint secretary Mr Naga Prasad in New Delhi on Wednesday. They said that both migrants and their families were suffering mental agony and financial problems after their relatives were stranded in Gulf countries. They also submitted a memorandum to Union minister for external affairs Sushma Swaraj in this regard.  


The MPs also mentioned in particular about Pochammala Sattaiah of Medak district, Adepu Harish of Nizamabad district and Dakam Mallaiah of Nizamabad stranded in Dammam, Riyadh in Saudi Arabia respectively.


They said the family members of the victims were worried over safety of Gulf migrants. The families belong below poverty line and were unable to bear the flight charges for their relatives to return home, they said.


The MPs urged the external affairs ministry to take steps for their safe return of the victims, they said. Gulf-Telangana cultural association president P. Basanth Reddy is also present.
