Cattle scheme launched by Minister in Warangal

CM K Chandrashekar Rao is ready to spend thousands of crores of rupees on welfare schemes, said Animal Husbandry Minister Talasni Srinivas Yadav.He along with Finance Minister Etela Rajender formally launched the cattle scheme at Mulkanoor village of Bheemadevarapally mandal, on Saturday. Addressing the members of Mulkanoor Dairy, Yadav said 23,000 members of Mulkanoor Dairy would be given buffaloes on subsidy and added that Rs 60 lakh subsidy would be given to the dairy per month. 


“Farmers can purchase buffalo as per their choice and get the subsidy,” he said. He also listed the welfare schemes being implemented by State government for the poor and marginalised people.


Rajender said dairy sector was more popular than agriculture in rural areas. “Keeping this in mind, State government is giving top priority to dairy,” he said and added that the State should produce enough milk to meet the needs of people in the State.


Karimnagar MP B Vinod Kumar said the idea of distribution of milch cattle to farmers was indeed conceived during the Telangana movement and called upon the people to utilise the scheme.


According to officials, State government intends to provide buffaloes to 63,304 members of Vijaya Dairy, 19,307 members of Mulkanoor Mahila Dairy, 57,206 members of Karimnagar Dairy and 43,006 members of Mother Dairy at an estimated cost of Rs 1,500 crore. Each buffalo costing Rs 80,000 would be given at 75 per cent subsidy to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and at 50 per cent subsidy to BCs and others.


The State government would provide insurance for a period of three years and also ensure supply of 300 kg of fodder. The government would also give Rs 5,000 towards transportation of animals. Government Chief Whip Sudhakar Reddy, MLC N Laxman Rao , Collector Amrapali Kata and chairpersons of Mulkanoor cooperative society and dairy were present.
