Minister Pocharam released subsidised fish seedlings

As many as 78 crore subsidised fish seedlings would be released in tanks across Telangana and 3.08 crore seedlings would be released in tanks in Kamareddy district to provide employment to fishermen, said State Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy.On Saturday, Minister Pocharam released 1.70 lakh subsidised fish seedlings into Kalki Cheruvu of Banswada town. District Fisheries Federation president Pallikonda Sai Baba, RDO Rajeshwar, and District Fisheries Officer Poornima also took part in the programme. 


On the occasion, Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy said that only Telangana was providing fish seedlings on 100 per cent subsidy and releasing 78 crore fish seedlings in various tanks across the State. Apart from this, the government was providing vehicles and other equipment to the fishermen on 75 per cent subsidy to strengthen fish production and made fishermen self-reliant.Pocharam said that in Kamareddy district the government would be releasing 3.08 crore fish seedlings in several tanks. The Minister appealed to the fishermen to utilise Telangana government schemes and obtain benefits from them.
