Telangana: Heavy rainfall warning for the state

The Telangana state is under the grip of a heavy rainfall warning for the next two days starting Tuesday.  Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur in the northern districts of Telangana, while the southern districts are likely to receive a moderate spell. Widespread rainfall was recorded on Monday across various districts in the state. The South west monsoon currents that were weak in the last week have become normal over the state.Currently, a better system has developed which is boosting the monsoon current under the influence of upper air cyclonic circulation, which has formed over the north coastal Orissa and neighbouring areas.  A low pressure area has been formed over North West Bay of Bengal of the West Bengal Coast, and this system is likely to become well marked during the next 24 hours.

On Monday, heavy rainfall was recorded in Kothagudem, Khammam, Nizamabad, while Hyderabad witnessed a scattered spell at regular intervals. The districts that moved out of the deficit zone following the heavy rainfall are Adilabad, Kothagudem, Bhupalpally, Jagitial, Khammam, Mancherial, Pedda palli, Siddipet, while the capital city continues to be in the shortfall belt. However the rain forecast in the next two days is likely to add to the rain surplus figures of the state. Currently, the state of Telangana is surplus by six per cent.
