Village revenue officer P Padma complained to district collector T. Vinay Krishna Reddy on Monday that Jangaon MLA Muttireddy Yadagiri Reddy had visited her residence along with his followers on Saturday evening and put pressure on her to issue passbooks of a non-agricultural land near Pembarthy on the outskirts of Jangaon town. When she said that it was against the rules and she could not issue the passbooks for the land mentioned, the MLA resorted to threatening her.

Offended by the MLA and his men misbehaving with her in front of her family, the VRO took up the issue with the Village Revenue Officers Association and TNGOs, who collectively condemned the MLA’s behaviour. They demanded an unconditional apology from the MLA within 24 hours. If he failed to comply, they have threatened to file a police complaint.

VRO Association state president G. Satish said that revenue officials were working tirelessly for implementing the state government’s schemes but they were receiving threats from the ruling party’s MLAs in return.
