Police seized gutka products of worth Rs 11.5 Lakh

Hyderabad: The Special Operations Teams (SOT) in Rachakonda district raided one kirana store in Ghatkesar and apprehended Mr T. Srinivas Reddy, owner of Srinivasa Kirana and General stores for selling illegal, banned gutka products.Officials seized approximately Rs 11.48 lakh worth goods from his possessions. 

The SOT in Rachakonda was notified by an inside source that the accused was a distributer of gutka and tobacco products.Syed Rafeeq, Addl DCP, SOT, Rachakonda, said, “All tobacco and gutka commodities are banned and its sale often continues unabated. However we are constantly on the lookout for such violators and serious action will be taken against them.”The apprehended persons and the seized properties, were handed over to the Ghatkesar police station.
