Meals for Rs 5 to come soon in Siddipet

With the sole objective of feeding the poor, Siddipet municipality officials will soon serve Rs 5 meals from two centres in Siddipet town.Following the directions of Irrigation, Marketing and Legislative Affairs Minister T Harish Rao, Municipal Chairman Kadavergu Rajanarsu and Commissioner K Srinivas Reddy, accompanied by other officials, inspected the municipal office and old bus station on Friday to study the feasibility of starting the Rs 5 meal centres from these two places. 


Rajanarsu said that they will run these centres in collaboration with ISKCON (International Society Krishna Consciousness). Stating that the Minister intends to serve Rs 5 meal to the poor living in the town and also those coming from neighbouring villages, Rajanarsu said that they drew inspiration from the Rs 5 meals scheme that was introduced by the GHMC in Hyderabad which was a huge success.
