HMDA (Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority) is exploring possibilities to set up solar panels at its establishments to save energy. To this effect, HMDA Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy instructed the electrical wing to study the possibilities of setting up panels on the buildings owned by HMDA and submit a detailed report. To begin with, there is a plan to set up solar panels at the HMDA Head Office in Tarnaka under a pilot project and study different aspects. The idea is to promote clean and green energy and reduce power bills. The HMDA Commissioner conducted a review meeting with heads of different departments here on Monday.

During the meeting, he instructed the officials to introduce e-office system in the organisation and make it a paper-free establishment. This will not only save paper but will also aid in ensuring transparency, he said.

Reviewing the progress of different departments, especially the planning wing, the Commissioner directed the officials to work in coordination and strive for development of the organisation.

Irrespective of the past, all efforts should be made to achieve the targets set by the State government. HMDA has to play a key role in making Hyderabad a global city as per the instructions of the government, he instructed the officials.

“HMDA is leading in Haritha Haram and similar measures should be initiated to make the organisation lead the chart in all programmes,” he said, adding that a review meeting will be conducted on the first of every month.
