Telangana State Road Transport Corporation’s (TSRTC) Adilabad region registered a record income of Rs 1.60 crore on a single day on Sunday in the form of hiring costs of buses, which ferried cadres of Telangana Rashtra Samithi to Pragathi Nivedana Sabha at Kongara Kalan.The region’s previous highest single-day revenue was Rs 1 crore, which was earned on this Raksha Bandhan. Adilabad region’s Divisional Manager Ramesh told Telangana Today that the unit’s six depots saw the revenue of Rs 1.59 crore by renting 468 buses. Its average daily revenue is Rs 80 lakh and registers an additional Rs 15 lakh in revenue during festivals, he said.
The Divisional Manager further said the buses were hired at the rate of Rs 43 per kilometre. The region has six depots: Adilabad, Nirmal, Mancherial, Utnoor, Bhainsa and Asifabad.Adilabad depot, whose 110 buses were hired, brought an income of Rs 38.57 lakh while Mancherial depot with the equal number of vehicles hired earned Rs 41.70 lakh. Asifabad and Bhainsa depots registered a revenue of Rs 69.25 lakh and Rs 19.81 lakh, respectively, renting 135 buses each. Similarly, Utnoor saw Rs 8.45 lakh as only 20 buses were hired.
