Making her hometown proud, Sindhuja Reddy Salguti, who lives in the US has become a member of the USA women’s national cricket team. Her team will participate in the World T20 Qualifiers in Scotland in August and she hopes to play her first ICC World Cup.
“This is a great opportunity for me. I am looking forward to representing the USA in the World Cup. We need to qualify for the T20 World Cup," she said.
Her love for cricket started at a young age and she represented Hyderabad cricket for over 14 years. During her heydays, she played for Hyderabad in under-16 and under-19 categories and represented the national side in under-19 category in 2008. She had received several medals.
Speaking on her selection to the US cricket team, Sindhuja says, "I am proud to be a Telangana girl and I'm thankful to the coaches who nurtured me in the initial years in Hyderabad." She wants to give her best and want her team to be proud of her.
