The High Court on Tuesday waived the 4-day jail time imposed for driving on roads using a mobile phone by the Cyberabad IV metropolitan court. The HC also went out anger over the imposing of punishment for a minor offence instead of penalising the offender. The offender V Bharadwaj was caught by the traffic police for driving while speaking on phone and produced before the court where it imposed the jail sentence of 4 days. Challenging the judgement, Bharadwaj's kin filed a petition in High Court which cancelled the jail term.
Dismissing the judgement, the court said the punishment would affect the life of the youngster. It also further suggested the court to consider the situation of the youngster's family and his future before pronouncing the judgement.
