Three Senior IPS Officers In The Race For Telangana DGP Post

Mon, Oct 02 : As the post of the Telangana state Director General of Police falls vacant on November 14 following Anurag Sharma's retirement soon, the race for new Telangana DGP has begun. According to the Supreme Court's guidelines, the state government has to send a list of five senior officers to UPSC and they will sort it out as per the rules.

On the other hand, there is a possibility that the state government may choose an officer based on certain norms. The names of Ms. Tejdeep Kaur, Sundeep Lakhtakia, Ish Kumar, Prabhakar Alok, Mahendra Reddy, T. Krishna Prasad and Rajiv Tridevi are in circulation. Out of all these, the names of last three are under consideration and one among them may be appointed for the top post.
