10 gates of Koilsagar dam opened due to heavy rain water inflows

Tue, Oct 10 : Due to the heavy inflows, 10 gates of Koilsagar dam in Mahbubnagar district have been lifted, letting out at 15,000 cusecs of water per day. Farmers and locals have expressed great joy at the letting out of the water. All these days, the dam was dry, owing to lack of rains.
Incessant rains from the past few days has led to the dam being filled up. Some farmers said that the sowing and harvesting season is over and there is no use of the water now. However, driking water needs of Mahbubnagar are fulfilled.
