First Best Innovation Award for South Central Railway

Hyderabad: The Indian Railway Ministry has awarded to South Central Railway with Best Innovation Award in the category of Best Innovation scheme in the railways for the year 2016-17.The South Central Railway won the award for its innovative contribution in train operations with the idea of an Automatic Single Car Test Rig developed by the Lalaguda Carriage Work Shop.The award worth a cash prize Rs.3 lakh.
The second best innovation award was given to Railway Designs and Standards Organization (RDSO), Lucknow and third best innovation award was given to Eastern Railway.
SCR General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav applaused the team behind for its achievement.The Automatic Single Car Test Rig is used to perform air brake testing on coaches to ensure proper functioning of the air brake system. Designed with state of art programming, the system is a unique product on Indian Railways.
