Telangana Home Minister N Narasimha Reddy appealed to the citizens to make use of Kanti Velugu programme introduced by the State government.Launching Kanti Velugu programme along with officials here on Wednesday, Reddy said for the first time in the country, a programme has been introduced to public for offering free eye tests, medicine, spectacles and other requirements.
He asked everyone to go for tests and called on local corporators and NGOs to coordinate and make the programme successful. Hyderabad District Collector Yogita Rana said if eye treatment is done in time, 66 per cent of people can overcome blindness. “About 92 health camps have been established for the programme in the district”, she added.
