Adilabad floods: Police donates Rs 3.5Lakh

In a novel gesture, police officials raised Rs 3.5 lakh for the recent flood victims of Adilabad district. Superintendent of Police, Vishnu S Warrier, handed over the cheque to Collector D Divya here on Saturday.The Collector praised the police for rescuing patients of a primary health center in Ichoda mandal centre, which was submerged due to floods recently, risking their lives. “Only police can come to the rescue of people in their troubled times,” she remarked, and added that the police played a crucial role in averting human and property loss during the time of calamities. 


Warrier said that the Adilabad police are winning the hearts of people time and again by extending support to people in their time of need and recollected that they also donated a day’s salary for the victims of Kerala floods as well. He thanked the police for contributing funds for a noble cause and encouraged them to continue with their service and set an example for others to follow.Adilabad DSP K Narasimha Reddy, administrative officer V Ashok Kumar, Adilabad Police Officers’ Association president Penchala Venkateshwarlu, vice president SK Tajuddin, members Satyanarayana, C Devidas, Gangaram, K Adellu were present.
