TRS candidate Dharma Reddy expresses confident of winning

Parkal Assembly constituency have witnessed rapid development in just four and half years with over Rs 1,000 crore sanctioned by TRS government. The long cherished dream of creation of revenue division for Parkal has also been realised.In an interview ,Dharma Reddy, who won the seat in 2014 as TDP candidate and joined the TRS later, tells P Laxma Reddy that TDP had lost its base with all his followers joining the TRS. “I am confident that the welfare schemes and development works taken up by the government led by KCR will ensure my victory with a thumping majority in the ensuing elections,” says Reddy, TRS nominee for Parkal.  Excerpts from the interview… 

How many of your promises made during 2014 elections have been fulfilled?

I promised to see that all villages in the constituency would get pucca roads and it has been fulfilled. Moreover, I got the Mega Textile Park that would provide employment to around 1.31 lakh people. The first priority would be certainly given to the locals. Three government residential schools were set up in the constituency and two more have been sanctioned. A polytechnic college with hostel facility was set up and a hostel for the STs was also established in the constituency. Moreover, the roads in Parkal town were widened and central lighting system was set up in the town and a blood storage facility was also set up at the local government hospital.

What is the status of programmes such as Mission Bhagiratha in your constituency?

Bulk water supply is being provided to 40 villages in the constituency. Within four months all villages would get tap water under Mission Bhagiratha programme.

You won the seat on a TDP ticket, but later joined the TRS. Does the change affect your prospects in the elections?

I don’t think so since all TDP cadre joined the TRS along with me. Moreover, the existing TRS  activists and the newly joined ones are working together. There are no groups in the party now. I am confident that I will win the seat with a majority of at least 75,000 votes.

Any other development works taken up by you?

I have made sure that almost all villages have their own graveyards. Three new buildings for the tahsildar office and one building for the newly created Revenue Divisional Office (RDO) have also been constructed. Four lift irrigation schemes were sanctioned and works for three of them have been completed. These lift irrigation schemes will provide irrigation facility to nearly 23,000 acres in the constituency.

What is your election agenda this time?

One of my top priorities this time is to get check-dam constructed on Chalivagu by getting at least Rs 100 crore funds from the government.
