The prompt response from Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao resolved the minor misconceptions prevailing between TRS cadres in Chennur Assembly constituency. Former MLA Nallala Odelu who met the Chief Minister at Pragati Bhavan in Hyderabad on Thursday, reiterated his loyalty to the party and vowed to work for victory of TRS candidate Balka Suman.

Following the announcement of Suman’s candidature for Chennur Assembly constituency, followers of Odelu, who was a sitting MLA, expressed their displeasure and fears of being sidelined in the upcoming elections. One of them even attempted self-immolation at a programme attended by Suman at Indaram village of Jaipur mandal in Mancherial district. Around 16 persons were injured in the incident.

As both Odelu and Suman traded a war of words blaming each other for the incident, the TRS President summoned Odelu and assured due recognition for the latter in the party after the elections. He directed Odelu to support Suman’s candidature in the Assembly elections and the latter vowed to work for victory of Suman.

Immediately after his meeting with the Chief Minister, Odelu told mediapersons that he was committed for strengthening TRS party in Chennur constituency. He recalled that the Chief Minister fielded him as TRS candidate from Chennur thrice though he could not even afford the fee prescribed to file nomination papers to contest the elections.

“I won thrice from Chennur constituency due to the blessings of Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao and people of Chennur constituency. I cannot forget my followers as well. The Chief Minister assured that my followers will be given due recognition in the party in future. We will work for TRS party’s victory for retaining the power in the State,” he said. He urged the party activists not to take hasty decisions and work as per directions of the Chief Minister.
