Telangana Electricity Employees’ 1104 Union on Tuesday thanked Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for his decision to regularise the services of 23,000 outsourced workers in power utilities who are currently designated as artisans.

The union, following the High Court’s dismissal of a petition against regularisation, said it was the Chief Minister who thought that artisans should be able to lead a better life and be rid of all insecurities related to their employment.

Union president N Padma Reddy and general secretary G Sai Babu recalled that the union organised a huge public meeting in Warangal in November 2016, which was followed by the utilities’ managements issuing orders for regularisation in July 2017 after Chief Minister’s decision to do so. The union expressed happiness at the High Court dismissing the petition filed against the regularisation and congratulated all the outsourced workers of the power utilities.
