Nalgonda: Telangana CM KCR on Thursday laid bare the injustice meted out by successive Congress and TDP governments to Telangana, their diabolical designs to deprive people of the benefits of projects built on Telangana land and the sincere efforts of the TRS government to rebuild the State on all fronts after its formation.

Weighing the positive approach and achievements of the TRS government against the wilful neglect and deception by the Congress and TDP, the Chief Minister said the TRS had faced a lot of criticism and humiliation during the statehood stir. “But our goal was clear — freedom from the clutches of oppressors, achieve statehood and fulfil the dreams and aspirations of the people. Chandrashekhar Rao was addressing a massive public meeting here, the second in the series of “Praja Ashirwada Sabha.”

The Chief Minister warned the TDP chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu against meddling in Telangana affairs in the ensuing polls to the State Legislative Assembly. “Naidu should bear in mind that he has 175 seats in his State to fight from in the next election, against 119 seats in Telangana,” he said.

Appealing to the people of Telangana to be wary of the evil designs of Naidu, he said if the TDP gets ten seats in the State, he would unleash his disruptive potential to stall the works on projects such as Kaleshwaram, Sitarama and Palamuru, which were so dear to the State that is firm on extending irrigation facility to over one crore acres of land and revive its fortunes.

Ridiculing the AP Chief Minister’s remarks that the TRS, with an eye on the polls, began treading the path of Modi, he pointed out that it was Naidu who had enjoyed the piggyback rides with Modi, being part of the NDA for four long years. After distancing himself from the NDA, he has been crying hoarse and blaming others. He said Chandrababu Naidu had deprived Telangana of its seven mandals that were part of its Khammam district by prostrating before Narendra Modi. That is how he grabbed the power projects that should rightfully be handed over to Telangana he said and alleged that Naidu had even stalled the division of the High Court at Hyderabad.

Holding Naidu squarely responsible for the death of hundreds of youths in the fight for statehood, he said Telangana State was achieved risking even his life, and cannot be surrendered to him.

He reiterated that politics was not a game for him but a task, a mission. One crore acres need to be given water, undoing the injustice meted out to Telangana in sharing river water, for decades.

The Mahakutami forged by the Congress and TDP leadership along with other political parties had no sanctity and it is in a way going to be the bane of Telangana, which was meted out a raw deal in the sharing of water from the Nagarjuna Sagar project.

While government paid the power bills of the lift irrigation schemes on the Nagarajuna Sagar Right canal in Andhra, the beneficiary farmers in Telangana were made to pay for the power consumed by the lift irrigation scheme on the Nagarjuna Sagar Left canal in Telangana. Both the Congress and TDP rules in the undivided State meted out discriminatory treatment towards Telangana in every aspect. Telangana was deprived of its due share of water from the project with the changes effected in the original design of the project, which was not opposed even by Burugula Ramakrishna Rao, then Chief Minister of Hyderabad State.

Stating that the TRS government, which had successfully addressed all the ills of the new State during the past four and half years of its rule, is all set to sweep the polls garnering 110 of the 112 seats it is contesting. Neither the TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy nor the leader of the Opposition K Jana Reddy would be able to defend themselves this time. The TRS nominees were receiving overwhelming support from the electorate and the party will win all the 12 Assembly constituencies in Nalgonda district.

He had a dig at both K Jana Reddy and Uttam Kumar Reddy stating that the entire Congress lot in Telangana remained silent spectators when the then Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy had gone to the extent of declining to spare even a rupee for Telangana on the floor of the House. He said Congress leaders like Jana Reddy were never sincere to the cause of Telangana.
