HC orders TS govt to conduct Panchayat elections with in 3 months

Hyderabad: Hyderabad High Court found fault with TRS Government over its failure in conducting Panchayat Polls even after the end of the term of Village Sarpanches. The appointment of Special Officials in place of Sarpanches in the Telangana villages has been disapproved by HC. In addition, Telangana Government was ordered to conduct Panchayat Polls within 3 Months.   


Actually, The term of Sarpanches in Telangana ended win August 2018. TRS Government delayed Panchayat Polls for the sake of Assembly Polls. Instead of extending the tenure of Sarpanches, Special Officials were appointed in place of them in each and every village across the state.


Sarpanches across Telangana opposed the decision of TRS Government and demanded Panchayat Polls should be conducted at the earliest. As the State Government didn't respond positively, Around 500 Sarpanches moved the High Court and obtained a favorable verdict.
