The Telangana Jana Samiti (TJS) on Thursday appeared to grope with regard to its place in the opposition alliance with its president Prof M Kodandaram saying he hoped for ‘clarity’ on seat-sharing in the next couple of days or so.
Speaking to reporters, Kodandaram said his party did not set any deadline to the Congress on seat-sharing with alliance partners TDP, TJS and Communist Party of India. He, however, said there was a need for the Congress to come clear on its plans on sharing of the 119 Assembly seats. He also said there was no question of finalising a common agenda or a common minimum programme until there was clarity on seat-sharing.
The TJS, he said, informed the allies that it was willing to make some compromises on seats but there are concerns in the TJS cadres over the delay by Congress and it should understand that the TJS too needs its political space.
