Warangal native Nageshwar Rao appointed as interim CBI director

An IPS officer Manne Nageshwar Rao of Warangal native has been appointed as interim director of Central Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday night amidst the internal rift between CBI director Alok Varma and special director Rakesh Asthana.The orders to this effect have been passed by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). Meanwhile, the Alok Varma and Rakesh Asthana have been sent on leave.Rao who hails from Bore Narsapur of Warangal is an IPS officer of 1986, Odisha cadre. He was working as the Joint Director in the agency earlier.
