Diwali: Cracker sellers will punished if they have no licence

The vendors and dealers possessing and selling firecrackers this Diwali are requested to obtain licences from the Zonal Police Deputy Commissioners before November 1 and those failing to do so will be punished accordingly, warns Hyderabad Police Commissioner, Anjani Kumar. 


“The applicants desirous of possessing and selling crackers on a temporary basis within the jurisdiction of the Hyderabad city police are required to obtain licence under the Explosives Act of 1884 and Rules, 1983 (as amended 2008), from the DCP of the Zones concerned. Any contravention would attract penal provisions and other action as stipulated under the Act and the Rules,” said the Police Commissioner. 


The applicants are required to apply for temporary licence in Form AE-5 of the Explosives Rules. They may collect the application form, if needed from the Zonal DCP for necessary action before November 1 and the applications submitted thereafter will not be accepted.The application should enclose the following documents along with the duly filled in application form. Applications received without the following documents will be summarily rejected.


NOC from Divisional Fire Officer.


Land permission issued by the MCH authorities in case of Government land.NOC/ agreement from the owner of the land/ premises in case of private land.Copy of licence issued in previous year.NOC from neighbours in case of single shop located in a pucca structure.Site plan of the shop (blueprint copy).Original licence fee receipt for Rs. 500 paid in the SBI, Gunfoundry, Hyderabad under the following Head of Accounts.
