Complaint lodged against former MLA Jeevan Reddy to EC

Telangana Advocates Joint Action Committee co-convener MA Nazeer on Monday lodged a complaint against T Jeevan Reddy, former legislator from Jagityal Assembly constituency, for alleged suppression of facts in election affidavits in both 2009 and 2014 general elections and sought action.


Nazeer, in his complaint to Chief Electoral Officer Dr Rajat Kumar, said Jeevan Reddy’s election affidavits of 2009 and 2014 Assembly elections don’t match. He said that in the 2009 affidavit, Reddy under the details of immovable assets, had mentioned a house site plot at Macha Bollaram in Hyderabad in Sy.Nos 164, plot Not 293 part, 294, 297 and 308 part with total extent of land shown as 933.3 sq yards and then market value of the land was shown as Rs 15 lakh.


He said that in the 2014 election affidavit, the area of the same property in the same survey numbers increased to 8,399.75 sq yards and market value shown as Rs 20 lakh. He mentioned in the complaint that there was clear variation in the affidavits, and Jeevan Reddy was misleading the returning officer and violating Election Commission rules. He sought a detailed inquiry in this regard.
