In an attempt to please the so-called ‘Andhra settlers’ ahead of the Assembly elections, TRS leader KT Rama Rao has termed his party leader’s sharp verbal attacks on TDP supremo and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu as political, and not personal, exchanges and said they should not be misconceived as criticism of settlers from Andhra Pradesh.Addressing a public gathering at Ayyappa Society, that comes under the Serilingampally Assembly constituency where ‘settlers’ form a majority of voters, KTR repeated many times in his speech that criticism of Naidu are of political nature and not personal.

He even gave example of how after the death of TDP leader Nandamuri Harikrishna in a road accident, TRS supremo and caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, keeping all political differences aside, visited the family of Harikrishna to console them.

Describing Hyderabad as a mini India which people from all over the country made their home, he said that while ‘settlers’ voted for TDP in 2014 due to fear-mongering that TRS will snatch properties owned by ‘settlers’ and discriminate against them if voted to power.

“But in the 2016 GHMC elections the settlers gave a thumping majority to TRS knowing that the party does not have any agenda of discrimination against anyone,” he added.

Defending the attacks by TRS leaders on Naidu, the minister said that the AP CM many times tried to interfere with the development of Telangana and wrote to the Central government against the irrigation and drinking water projects of Telangana.

Earlier, during his campaign in Rajanna-Sircilla, KTR said that voters nor the Grand Alliance was nothing short of writing a death sentence for the development of Telangana. “How can the Grand Alliance decide on development if it cannot even decide its candidates?” The alliance was dependent on Naidu for development, however, KTR mocked doubt if the CM would be interested in developing Telangana. If the people voted for the grand alliance, he said their vote may turn into a “Marana Shasanam.”
