Historians concerned over Kacheguda Railway station

Hyderabad: The deteriorating lime plaster on the walls of Kacheguda railway station is causing concern among historians. The station, part of the Hyderabad division of the South Central Railways, is more than 100 years old.

Dr. Mohammad Safiullah, a heritage expert, said the building must be preserved for the next generation. 

“If it is left as it is, its condition could get worse. He had taken this issue to the notice of senior SCR officials. Nothing has happened even after a couple of months.”

Hyderabad divisional railway manager Arun Jain Kumar said the building was regularly maintained by skilled workers. 

“We attend to problems immediately,” he said.

The main entrance was closed for a long time for maintenance, Arun Jain Kumar added.
