Caretaker chief minister of Telangana K. Chandrashekar Rao addressed in Praja Ashirwada Sabah in Dornakal. He said that once water begins to flow from Kaleshwaram project next year, the constituency would receive all the irrigation water it requires.Addressing a campaign meeting here, he said the government was spending Rs 1,000 crore for repairs to Sri Ram Sagar Project canal system. “I promise that when next June Kaleshwaram project is switched on, you will get a lot of water. This is my promise,” he said.

The constituency, he said, had the highest Girijan population in the State and the TRS government, after being voted back to power, will solve all issues faced by the tribal communities, particularly those related to land. “We will solve all issues such as those related to podu lands within six months,” he said.

Pointing out that there was no comparison between post-TRS government and pre-Telangana State days when Congress and TDP were in power, Chandrashekhar Rao said development and welfare measures taken up by TRS government was there for all to see in every village. He listed out various programmes such as Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bhima, Kalyana Lakshmi, increased wages for the likes of Aanganwadi and Aasha workers and welfare pensions to the needy.

“People should think carefully about whom they want to vote for. On the one hand is the Congress-TDP combine that neglected Telangana for nearly sixty years and on the other is TRS which over the past four years, has been solving one problem after the other and working for the people,” he said.

Chandrashekhar Rao thanked the people who turned out in tens of thousands despite Friday being the very auspicious Karthika Pournami day. “I know many of you want to go to the temple at Gandikota. Your presence here tells me there is a strong wave in support of TRS in the State,” he said.
