Hyderabad: The TRS government has inserted a clause in the Panchayat Raj Ordinance 2018, mandating contestants in the panchayat elections to file affidavits declaring their assets and criminal cases pending against them.

According to the Ordinance, they must have the signatures of two witnesses and the election officers concerned have to display these affidavits in the notice board of the gram panchayat concerned so that the people can raise objections in case of dispute.
